Publisher FAQ Frequently Asked Questions: Sell Text Links, Sell Online Ads...

Questions

Answers

  1. Will my site be penalized by Google for the purchase or sale of text links?

While we do not control Google or their actions, our experience has shown that sites that employ smart link campaigns that avoid obvious spam techniques and focus on a variety of link building strategies receive only positive results in Google and the other major search engines. Our services are legitimate and responsible forms of building link popularity that will help your site succeed. If you have concerns, speak with your account manager – they will let you know about all of the measures we take to ensure the safety of your site.

  2. How do the links get displayed?

The links are displayed either automatically through the code we provide, or you would manually add the links to your site. Our code works on PHP enabled servers only, however, if you are proficient we can provide you with a feed to power your own customer link display script that will work with your server.

  3. How can I be paid?

We offer Paypal and company check as payment options for hosted text link ads, blog articles and presell pages. If you cannot accept either of these forms of payment, you may not be eligible to participate in our publisher program, but you may contact us to attempt to arrange alternative payment methods.

  4. When will I be paid?

Payments are set for either the 5th or 15th of the month; the choice is yours.

  5. What if someone contacts me to buy links directly?

We require that all link enquires directed to you be forwarded to us. We do this to protect both you and us. We handle all of the prescreening and billing issues associated with link buying.

  6. Can I sell with other brokers?

Except when authorized as an exception in writing, we require all publishers to sell links through us exclusively. This is intended to protect both you and our advertisers.

  7. How many links can I sell?

Our limit per page is 20 links. You may choose to allow fewer than that, but 20 is our absolute maximum.

  8. What types of links sell best (sitewide, homepage, inside page, etc.)?

Our experience shows that homepage links are the best sellers. Inside links are still very desirable, but sitewide links are no longer in high demand.

  9. What happens if my PR changes (up/down)?

If your PR changes, you may be contacted to renegotiate pricing, or, if available, we will use the pricing structure agreed upon when you signed or added your site to our program.

  10. What will make me more money: links or banners?

This doesn’t have a clear cut answer. Links will make you more consistent money. Banners work on either CPC (cost-per-click) or CPM (cost-per-thousand impressions), whereas links are paid using a flat price. If your traffic increases you will make more money on the same banner you had last month (generally), but your link income will stay the same. Conversely, if your traffic goes down, you will make less money with banners while the links stay the same price.

  11. What if I want to stop selling links?

If you want to stop selling links on your site, we require a 30-day notice so that we may make the appropriate arrangements with our clients that are on your site. If you pull the links off before the 30-day period, you may forfeit your last payment.

  12. How do I add all of my sites?

Just send us an email at support [at] livecustomer.com and we will add your additional sites.

  13. How can I see my account info?

At this time we do not support self-managed vendor accounts. If you need anything just email your representative and they will get the info for you, or you can email support [at] livecustomer.com.

  14. I’m ready to sell links, how do I get started?

Just fill out the contact form located here, or email support [at] livecustomer.com.

  15. What are the requirements?

Unless you are a proficient programmer, we require that a) your server supports PHP; b) you have the ability to manually place the links after receiving an email asking you to do so.
